Caracas, 28 Ago. AVN.- El ministro de Petróleo y Minería, Rafael Ramírez, informó que en las próximas horas se extinguirá el fuego en los dos tanques que continúan en llamas en la refinería de Amuay de Punto Fijo, en el estado Falcón.
"Había 3 tanques incendiándose, en el número 200 cedió el fuego, y el 203 tiene el fuego extinguido en un 75%", indicó durante, un contacto televisivo con Venezolana Televisión, en la madrugada de este martes.
La madrugada de este sábado ocurrió una explosión en el área de almacenamiento de la refinería de Amuay. El área operativa no resultó afectada, pero la refinería está en parada programada mientras se controlan las llamas por completo.
Del mismo, Ramírez señaló que luego de apagar completamente el fuego en el tanque 203, se concentrarán los esfuerzos en el 204, el cual continúa en llamas.
"Vamos a seguir aquí hasta que el fuego esté completamente extinguido, ya para el día de mañana se finalizará el fuego en el 204, posteriormente se entrará en una etapa de evaluación", explicó.
Agradeció la labor de los bomberos y todo el personal que trabajan para solventar la situación. Unos 222 bomberos y voluntarios de la petrolera estatal trabajan en la extinción de las llamas.

Caracas, 28 Aug. AVN. - The Petroleum and Mining Minister Rafael Ramirez said that in the coming hours will extinguish the fire in the two tanks still ablaze in Amuay refinery Fixed Point, in Falcon state.

"There were three tanks on fire, the fire gave number 200, and the 203 has the fire extinguished by 75%," he said during a televised contact with Venezuelan TV in the early hours of Tuesday.

The early hours of Saturday was an explosion in the storage area Amuay refinery. The operational area was not affected, but the refinery is scheduled outage while controlling the flames completely.

Just, Ramirez said that after the fire off completely in the tank 203, the focus will be on the 204, which goes up in flames.

"We will stay here until the fire is completely extinguished, and for tomorrow will end on fire in the 204, then enter a phase of evaluation," he said.

He appreciated the efforts of the firefighters and all the staff who work to resolve the situation. Some 222 firefighters and volunteers from the state oil company working in extinguishing the flames.
